Conclusion
At the start of this project I decided to speak upon the topic of breast cancer. The reason I chose this topic is because of two reasons. Firstly, our society has created social norms in which it’s considered taboo for men to be emotional, vulnerable, and caring. I feel a need to break those norms and doing so by talking about a topic like breast cancer because breast cancer affects primarily women, and for a man to speak upon on an issue like breast cancer opens some minds to persuasion. Secondly, I chose this topic because it is personal to me. In 2014, I lost my mother to breast cancer. Having been through such a horrible loss I feel the necessity to advocate and spread the word on breast cancer because seeing how breast cancer kills motivates me to want a change.
I attempted to manage my time well with school and extracurricular activities, but it was quite a struggle because I am a musician, which requires a lot of my time and focus. However, I made every motion possible to finish my research project, I made sure to finish everything possible during school hours and take intervals of work time at home to balance out the work, while maintaining my hobby. The stretch for me was the weekends when we weren’t in school and I didn’t have access to a computer. These were the times I struggled most because I could not work on it at home. This project was a culmination of every lesson I learned while attending Social Justice High School my eyes have been opened and conditioned to see corruption wherever it may lie and this paper is my proof of it. This is my fire.
